Zi Medicals AD is a portable medical device designed to administer a constant
dose rate of IV fluid to the patient. It uses a wide range
of standard syringe types and will operate over long periods
of time thanks to its high capacity batteries and smart power
management unit.
Using failsafe technology, AD sounds
an audible alarm when power is low to prevent the administration
of fluid from being interrupted. The device is also capable
of measuring back pressure to determine whether the drug is
being administered correctly and safely.
Once set, the cover of the device is closed to hold the syringe
securely in place (in accordance with the Medical Devices
Directive) and to ensure that the programme is not involuntarily
adjusted when the patient is mobile.
The device operates in ml per hour.
